A warm welcome awaits you at this family run business. Pom and Andy returned from several years in Asia, where Andy worked as an IT operational projects manager for an international bank and Pom undertook restaurant management training at the prestigious At-Sunrice school in Singapore.
The licensed Restaurant situated in the heart of old Harwich opened in September 2008 and is now building a strong base of regular local customers. The ground floor space can seat 45 people which is split between the restaurant and bar areas. It can cater for small or large groups and is becoming a popular choice for those special occasions and gatherings. It is advised to book in advance for Friday and Saturday evenings.
The attractive Grade II listed building was previously the Half Moon pub, which is known to have been trading in 1753 and closed its doors circa 1970 before becoming Half Moon Antiques for some thirty years. It has now been sensitively renovated and refurbished to create a cosy dining experience with many of the building's original features retained, not least the 16th century dragon beam timber work above the original Half Moon pub corner entrance.
