Outcomes of Satyanarayana Vratam: It is a powerful Vratam that confers general Happiness, Prosperity and Wellbeing of the family. This story, as per scriptures, was originally told by Lord Vishnu himself to Devrshi Narad for the benefit of mankind.
You can perform it after major achievements in life. Normally done once every year. It is also a great auspicious occasion to invite friends and relatives. Satyanarayan Vratam takes about 3 - 4 hours approximately.
The pooja consists of praying the God Ganesha, Lakshmi, Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and Parvathi, Sun, the nine planets, Lord Indra and Asta Dikpaalakaas,. Later Lord Satyanarayana is worshipped.
The timing can be determined by consulting a Purohit. He would also guide on the materials required for the pooja.
It is a ceremony performed on the occasion of one's first entry into a new house. Once the house is ready, the family moves in on an auspicious day that is determined by the Purohit.
Outcomes: It is said the each new acquisition is subject to various evil forces and jealousy. As a precautionary measure for this various safeguard ceremonies must be performed. Gruha-Pravesh Pooja is one such ceremony which is performed to conciliate with the gods and planets so that the inmates of the house are blessed with good fortune.
Vaastu pooja: Vaastu pooja for Vaastu Purusha is performed outside the house before the actual entry into the house.
Vaastu Shanti: Vaastu shanti or Gruha shanti, involves the havan. A havan is performed to prevent harmful influences of the planets, remove negative vibrations and create a peaceful environment in the house. Navagraha-Pooja (worship of the nine planets) is done. Other poojas like Ganpathi pooja, Satyanarayana Vratam, Lakshmi pooja are also done in different parts of India.

Namakaranm is one of the most important of the 16 Hindu 'samskaras' or rituals. Traditionally, the Namakaranam ceremony is conducted after the 'Jatakarma' samskara, which is performed at the time of the birth of the child i.e. doing the Astrological chart of the baby.
The naming ceremony is done 11 days after birth-immediately or, based on a priest or an astrologers’ advice, and can extend even up to the baby's first birthday.
Annaprasan is one of the most important samskaras and is performed after jatakarma (neo-natal ceremony) and namakarana (naming ceremony) and this is a part of Hindu religion based on the texts of Dharmashastras.
It is performed after the sixth month of birth – the first solid food is given on this day to the baby.
The ceremony begins by offering prayers to Ganesha, Goddess Durga, Sri Krishna.
The child is then given rice mixed with honey, curd and ghee. Only a small quantity of food should be prepared. The procedure of the Pooja can be got from Holy Texts or from a Purohit.
Upanayanam ceremony is a very important tradition among the Brahmins. A sacred thread, called Yagnopavitam is placed around the left shoulder of the boy. This thread is a composite of 3 threads, signifying Goddesses Gayatri (thought), Saraswati (word) and Savitri (deed) respectively. There is also a knot in the middle that signifies the unending Brahman. Dates for Upanayanam & the ceremony is done by a Purohit.
Outcome: Upanayanam is said to destroy a boy's bad period and can keep at distance all the ill effects of the planets.. 'Sandhya Vandanam' performed at young age will bring him bright future.
Upanayana (Sacred Thread ceremony) is performed for boys of at least 7 years 2 months of age from the Brahmin varna, of at least 12 years from the Kshatriya varna, and of at least 17 years from the Vaishya varna. The youngster is taught during the ceremony the secret of life through Brahmopadesam (revealing the nature of Brahman, the Ultimate Reality) or the Gayatri mantra.
The thread is changed once a year on the occasion of Shravani Purnima, the full moon day in the month of Shravana. This is also known as Avaani Avittam in Tamil, and coincides with the Raksha Bandhan.
According to Hindu mythology, this comes in Bhadrapada Suddha Chavithi/Sukla Chaturthi. It is performed as the birthday of Lord Ganesha by the entire family members and is one of the major traditional festivals celebrated by the Hindu community.
